this year the youth at my parish decided to have the theme of 'flooding' for our youth service, which is sunday. not flooding in terms of destructive floods, but flooding our church with people, bringing new life, much as the floods of the fertile crescent did to the ancients each year.
oddly enough, we were hit with rain, as well as warming temperatures which have contributed to the rivers skyrocketing to over 21-29 feet of water this past weekend. flooding is not something we aren't familiar with... esp. not now.
i'm just pointing out the irony.
